The Pandemic Opportunity

The Pandemic Opportunity

The story is real. Stores, banks, restaurants, gyms, schools and most businesses are closed to stop the virus from spreading. People are losing their jobs – temporarily or not…

This is a hit to the economy and a blow to many individuals. We are being forced to reassess our ways of living and being. Going back to what is essential and looking at what is really important for us is a must. The world is changing and we cannot deny it. There is no going back.

As much as it may feel like a curse, this pandemic is actually a blessing in disguise as we (humans) couldn’t sustain our old ways of being any longer.

Consuming to the extreme, working crazy hours to make money to pay for a mortgage we can barely afford, depriving our kids of quality time and connection with the most important people in their lives, feeding our bodies with crap food because we are too tired for cooking, living for the weekend or the next vacation… The result of living like this is being completely disconnected from ourselves and our community. Many of us don’t even know who we truly are, we lost sight of what is really important to us or even worse, what we truly love.

As we are asked to stay home, how can we use this time to evaluate what needs to change in our life. We have to create a new way of being. We are the creators of this new way and it starts with us individually.

It starts with taking a deep dive within meaning our “inner world”. Our inner world is made of the feelings we’ve been tossing aside, the memories of events we didn’t like, emotions we’ve been bottling up.

Now it’s time to open our eyes and see. What have you been avoiding to look at or address?

I know it is scary and can be overwhelming. If you need help, reach out to a professional who can assist you in getting out of the story you have been creating so you can see the reality of what needs to change.

Remember that your perception of a situation, event or emotion (past or present) is based on an unconscious program or belief that was probably created with fear, anger, shame, doubt, etc., but know that it doesn’t have to be that way, we have the power to CHOOSE to live from a different perspective. What if you approached it from a place of curiosity, love, simplicity and joy?

Be prepared to be honest and see things that you don’t like and may scare you. It’s ok, it’s time to let it go and change. No need to dwell on it! Simply release it!

Here are some questions you can ask yourself:

  • In each area of your life (health, love, work, social, etc), how fulfilled are you?
  • How much are you settling for less?
  • What makes you settle for less?
  • Where do you need to make a major change?
  • What are you resisting in this change?
  • What fears are coming up?
  • What do you need to let go of?
  • What would bring you more calmness or peace?
  • Where can you bring more simplicity in your life?

Tip when answering … blaming a situation, someone or something will only take your power away. It will keep you where you are at.

Our lives are changing, the world as we know it is transforming.  Those of us who see it as an opportunity to step into New Ways of Being and don’t resist the change will come out of this feeling free and at peace.

Those resisting the change thinking we’ll go back to “how it was” and those clinging on to material possessions, to what was and to their old beliefs of what “should be” and those who identify solely with what they have built and what they did, will find it very hard to move forward.

So my questions to you are:

  • What opportunity are you seeing?
  • How ready are you to step into new ways of being?
  • What are you ready to do to get there?

Share your answers with me in the comments below, I would love to hear from you.

See you on the other side,

Julie Anne

This is a gift of time that we have all been given… to reflect, act, inspire and regroup. I am so energized and excited, I have more opportunities than I ever thought I could have…it is amazing…. some songs to think about…. A Bridge over Troubled Waters, the Beatles, Let it Be and if needed…. Lean on Me!
